Presented by Dr. Melissa Schindler of University of North Georgia, this talk will celebrate the life, work, and influence of Octavia Butler, one of science fiction’s pioneers. Learn how Butler paved the way for a whole generation of black women writers and prepared the world for Wakanda.

Melissa E. Schindler, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the English Department at the University of North Georgia. Her seminars include World Literature, Multicultural American Literature, and Africana Studies.
