Friends & Advocates

A library can never have too many friends! The Forsyth County Public Library Friends & Advocates are an independent, not-for-profit organization. Since 1995, members of the organization are dedicated to raising funds that support programs, resources, materials, and staff at the library.

FCPL Friends & Advocates operate used bookstores inside the Cumming Library, the Post Road Library, and the Sharon Forks Library during regular library hours.

Funds raised from book sales, membership fees, and other donations are used to support additional programs, materials, and events beyond the library's regular budget.

*FCPL Friends and Advocates are not accepting donations at this time.

Your donation of gently used books and materials are greatly appreciated and you can bring donations to any of the Bookstores during normal hours. Small donations may also be taken to the Ask Us desk at any library branch.

FCPL Friends & Advocates welcome your donation of gently used current and popular materials in the areas of adult fiction and non-fiction, children's fiction and non-fiction, classics, cookbooks, history, religion, and southern interest. Special materials such as rare and collectible books, first editions, and autographed copies may also be accepted.

The organization reserves the right to refuse donations that are not in suitable condition for resale. A donation receipt is available upon request. Once a donation is received in a Bookstore or library branch, it cannot be returned to the donor. Not all donations can be used in the Bookstores and the FCPL Friends & Advocates may elect to sell certain materials via a partnership with Better World Books. This partnership allows the organization to reach a global market while also recycling truly unsalable materials to keep them out of landfills and supporting literacy efforts at home and abroad. Monetary contributions are also gratefully accepted. Checks should be made payable to FCPL Friends & Advocates and may be delivered to any Bookstore or to the Ask Us desk at any library branch. A receipt for your donation is available upon request.
